Necromunda Spyrer Gang

Visiting my parents' house during christmas gave me the opportunity of digging through some old miniatures. One of the finds were these Necromunda Spyre hunters that I painted during the summer of 1996 when I was in high school and still living at home.

Blood Bowl remains my alltime favourite Games Workshop game, but we had a great time playing Necromunda as well. We played it at home, in the local store and at tournaments and the games were mostly quick and enjoyable.

The whole background history of gangs fighting for territory in an abandoned industrial environment below a metropolis was unbelievably cool I used to think. The spyrers shown here were included in a supplement later on. They represented rich kids from the city descending to the Underhive to prey on the regular gangs as some kind of ritual. Their addition to the game made the already excellent fluff even more colourful.

I think most people would agree that the green bases of the 'Eavy Metal team look well out of place in the Underhive so I went for a more industrial feel to mine adding bits and pieces from my spares box.

I have 7 out of 8 spyrers and I am tempted to paint up the rest of them just for fun.

      Thanks. I have currently no plans of selling. They were the only ones I kept (Along with the Delaques) when I sold my Necromunda collection.

Witch elves are what makes dark elf teams so cool. They are expensive to hire and break easily, but the amount of damage they can do to your opponent's team more than makes up for this. Witch Elf From a modelling point of view they are really interesting too. I've always fancied Jes Goodwin's Eldar harlequins  and I wanted my witch elves to look something like that. Witch Elf For a very long time I was struggling to find a combination of parts that I was satisfied with and I decided to scratch my first attempts . In the end I decided to use a Marauder witch elf combined with the legs of a female eldar harlequin. Since the face of the Marauder witch wasn't exactly up to Jes Goodwin standards I also used the face mask of the harlequin. Witch Elf The result is a witch elf in an attacking position which suits this kind of player well, I think.

Vietnam US Infantry Painting Guide

When I saw the new Flames of War US Rifle Platoon I immediately knew I had to get some of these. They are beautifully sculpted and I really think Evan has outdone himself here. At the start of a new project I always do a test base/figure and only when I'm happy with the color choices I will move on to the rest of the miniatures in the unit. This time I decided to document the recipe because as we all know I will get sidetracked by other projects before I finish the whole platoon. So when I return to these miniatures at some point in the future I won't have to be guessing all the colors I used. Most of the time I start from a black undercoat and with these guys it was no different. Colors used are all Vallejo . Blood Bowl Base Rings

Every Blood Bowl player will at some point have tried to play a match where it was hard to tell your opponent's miniatures apart. It can be very frustrating if there is no easy way to tell whether you are blocking a black orc or a goblin. "My blitzers are the ones with slightly more spikes than the others..."  Really? Also, it's rather time consuming when you constantly have to ask your opponent what his playing pieces represent. Orc Blitzer That's why I love base rings! Base rings were introduced in the 2 nd edition of Blood Bowl (I think) and by using them you can make your players' positions immediate to your opponent.
